Soundcrank Digital Music Survey

Last week we released the results of our digital music survey.
http://soundcrank.com/files/press/07DMS.pdf
The survey reveals that 70% of consumers have used peer-to-peer file sharing applications to download music in the past 6 months.. There is a clear relationship between the usage of these applications and instances of purchasing of digital music online. Overall, only 41% of respondents actually purchased digital music online during the past 6 months.
The results of the survey identify the most important issue the music industry must address:
Is the future of the music industry just selling tracks?

It's exciting to find people on the other side of the world that are listening to the same stuff you are. It shows that music isn't restricted by political or cultural boundries. Music an area where it's amazingly easy to find common ground.

“Podcasts and Interviews” are now “Artist Recommendations”. The name has changed but it’s still the same content you are familiar with. We also made the following changes:
RSS Feeds – Now you can subscribe to Artist Recommendations so you don't miss a thing.
Digg Button - We love Digg. If you like the artist and their recommendations you can let others know about it by Digging it.
We also made changes to the page layout. We are working on updating content to take advantage of this.
We are committing to releasing a new Artist Recommendation every Monday. We have Joshua Radin lined up for next week.
